The Reality

Cold chain is unforgiving.

One temperature excursion can cost hundreds of thousands — in spoiled stock, regulatory fines, or a lost contract.

Spoilage & write-offs

An undetected breach turns a full load into a write-off. By the time the depot notices, the truck is already at the customer — and the freight is past the point of no return.

Compliance & audit risk

FSSC 22000, HACCP, and pharmaceutical cold-chain rules all require documented temperature logs. Manual records are slow, error-prone, and trivially easy to falsify — auditors know this.

No visibility in transit

Once a reefer leaves the depot, most fleets are flying blind. Door openings, compressor glitches, and route deviations go unnoticed until something goes wrong — and by then, the cost is already locked in.

Our Solution

End-to-End Cold Chain Visibility

Combine GPS fleet tracking with pharmaceutical-grade temperature monitoring in a single platform.

Multi-Zone Temperature Monitoring

  • Up to 4 independent temperature zones per vehicle
  • DS18B20 probes accurate to ±0.1°C
  • Configurable upper/lower alert thresholds per zone
  • Historical charts for any time range

Door Sensor Integration

  • Magnetic door sensors for each compartment
  • Timestamp every door open/close event
  • Alert on doors left open beyond threshold
  • Cross-reference with delivery stops on map

Compliance Reports

  • Automated HACCP-style temperature logs
  • Chain of custody documentation per delivery
  • Digital signature capture at handoff points
  • Export to PDF/CSV for auditors

Real-Time Excursion Alerts

  • Instant SMS/email on temperature breach
  • Escalation tiers: warn → critical → emergency
  • Alert includes vehicle location, zone, and current temp
  • Driver in-cab buzzer integration available

Cameras

Eyes Where Cold Chain Actually Breaks

Most cold-chain incidents happen at the loading dock, behind closed cargo doors, on the side of a truck during a drop, or while reversing into a receiving bay — not on the open road. Four cameras cover the full chain of custody.

Position 1

Front + Driver-Facing

AI dashcam covers the road and the driver's cabin — fatigue alerts, phone use, forward-collision warnings, and footage 30 seconds either side of every harsh event.

  • Driver fatigue + distraction
  • Forward collision & lane departure
  • Route + harsh-event evidence

Position 2

Cargo Bay Interior

Sealed-housing camera inside the reefer with infrared night vision — because once the doors close, the cargo bay is dark. See loading accuracy, stacking discipline, and chain of custody at every drop.

  • Loading + stacking verification
  • IR night vision (sealed housing)
  • Cargo theft + tampering evidence

Position 3

Side + Loading Door

External weatherproof camera covering the delivery side of the truck — proof of delivery on every drop, footage of who opened which door, when, and for how long.

  • Proof of delivery footage
  • Door open / close events
  • Retailer-dispute evidence

Position 4

Rear-Facing Exterior

Mounted on the back of the trailer, looking rearward — covers the reverse-into-dock manoeuvre, the receiving bay approach, and any rear-collision incident the driver couldn't see.

  • Reverse-into-dock footage
  • Rear-collision evidence
  • Night-time reversing visibility

Cross-referenced on the same incident timeline. Camera footage lives on the ACM video platform; temperature readings, GPS position, and door events live on ACM Destiny — but when an incident happens, the timeline lines up so a temperature breach can be matched to the exact moment a door opened or a delivery was made.

Case Study

Representative
18-vehicle reefer fleet · Western Cape produce distributor

Zero temperature excursions in 8 months — and audit prep dropped from 2 hours to 10 minutes.

A Western Cape produce distributor supplying fresh fruit and vegetables to a major supermarket chain had recently absorbed a R280,000 loss and a compliance warning from a single missed temperature breach. After deployment, the operation maintained a perfect cold-chain compliance record across 18 reefer vehicles — three temperature zones per truck, monitored continuously, exported to retailer audit format on demand.

18 vehicles monitored across 3 temperature zones each

Audit documentation cut from 2 hours to 10 minutes

Driver door discipline improved after open-door alerts introduced
